Lush and exotic, Grenada has more
spices per square mile than any other place in the world. Local residents sell
fragrant cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg, often in tiny lidded baskets to
take home. The port of St. George's is one of the most beautiful in the world.
And there are quaint streets with wrought-iron balconies and charming pastel
warehouses. Restaurants offer second-floor balconies overlooking the harbor
front, and all of the city is within a few-minutes walk of the port. The
interior of the island is rich with palms, oleander, bougainvillea and ferns.
The Grand Etang National Park contains the island's spectacular rain forest, and
Grand Anse beach is one of the best in the world, and it, too, is very near the
port. |
