This get-acquainted tour
covers the major highlights of Cape Town and its suburbs. During an
orientation drive your guide will point out the major attractions and
provide interesting details. The following sights will be part of your
tour:
Signal Hill
From the pier your
drive will take you up to Signal Hill. From here shots were fired to
greet ships or mark ceremonial occasions. Its vantage point yields
fantastic views of the city. Then proceed along the saddle pass which
connects Signal Hill with Lion's Head towards Cape Town's pretty seaside
suburbs.
Camps Bay
This suburb is noted
for its location below the towering Twelve Apostles mountain range. A
short photo stop will be made at Maiden's Cove for the best view of
Camps Bay. Proceed along the winding road to Clifton. Below its
precipitous granite cliffs is one of the peninsula's most fashionable
beaches. Then head to Mouille Point and enjoy a cup of tea at the
Winchester Mansions. Reboard your coach for the drive back to Cape Town.
Cape Town City Center
Back in town you will
travel along the attractive Heerengracht Boulevard. Note the statues of
Jan van Riebeeck and his wife facing Table Mountain. They are
immortalized roughly at the spot where their ship landed in 1652. Continue
past the Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and the Castle of Good Hope,
which is the city's oldest building. Then conclude your tour at the pier
