As Spain's capital of South American
operations established in the 16th century, Lima has remained an important
city. It also has retained a great deal of colonial architecture, and a tour
through the city center offers many photo opportunities. The Plaza de Armas is of particular interest, since it is
surrounded by attractive government buildings, the Cathedral, and the
Presidential Palace, where there is a mid-day, colorful
changing-of-the-guard ceremony. The city borders the Pacific Ocean and has a
temperate climate in the South American summer months, from November through
March. |
